BIO

Hello! I'm Jessica Green.

I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I graduated from the University of North Texas in 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Art and Design Studies and minors in sculpture, art history, and social sciences. My unique path throughout college led me to where I am now. I originally went to UNT to study graphic design and then expanded my studies to drawing and painting, design management, and art education. My experiences through these different practices allowed me to discover my passion for public art. I am always looking for the next opportunity to transform public spaces through sculptures, murals, and interactive works.

Within my artistic practice, I am primarily interested in using digital methods to produce sculptures, paintings, and graphic art. My work in public spaces focuses on the expression of stories and human experiences that define our surroundings. My proposal for a light sculpture, in collaboration with artist Yara Jones, was selected in 2021 and 2022 to be displayed at the Dallas music festival, Lights All Night, with over 40,000 attendees. In 2022, I was commissioned by the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area and the City of Lewisville Public Art Committee to paint a mural on the exterior walls of the UNT research building. I was also commissioned by the City of Bedford in 2022 to create a permanent, site-specific sculpture for the opening of the new park, Generations Park at Boys Ranch. I am fortunate to say that I am now the Cultural Arts Assistant for the City of Bedford, assisting and co-coordinating the cultural and public art programming for the city.
